The “2018 Renok Peak Expedition (5,200m)” was conducted by the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute based in Darjeeling in India.
The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is one of world’s best institutes for mountaineering and sport climbing. It is situated at a peak of 2,000 meters in the chilled mountain ranges of Darjeeling. The Institute is run by the Government of India.
Itinerary
21–28 November: Routine Physical Training and Rock Climbing at Sherpa Tenzin Rock
29 November: Driving to the State of Sikkim (125km)
30 November: Trekking to Kzongri Base Camp (22km)
1 December: Trekking to HMI Base Camp (14km, 14,500ft)
2–13 December: Training in the Rathong Glaciers/Altitude Gain at Renok Peak (5,200m)
14 December: Trekking to Kshoka (14km)
15 December: Trekking to Yuksun (22km)/Return to Darjeeling
16 December: Written Examination/Sport Climbing Competition
17 December: Graduation Ceremony
18 December: Final Closure
